Matthew "Matt" McLeod (23 December 1938 — 3 July 1983 (aged 44)) born in Whitehaven, was a professional rugby league footballer of the 1960s, playing at club level for Workington Town, Wakefield Trinity (Heritage #742), and Whitehaven as a , or , i.e. number 8 or 10, or, 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums, he died in Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne.
